Hi, I’m Paulina! Aspiring travel writer, photographer and full time dreamer with a severe travel addiction.
So, this blog is for YOU. But just to introduce myself, here’s a little bit about me.
In May 2014 I started My Travel Stock to make a step towards fulfilling my long-term dream – to focus my life and work on travel. At the beginning of 2015 I opened a new chapter of my life after saying goodbye to my corporate job. Now it is all written in the stars… Actually, that’s nonsense. It’s all written in my head and I am the only one who can make it happen. Let me explain.
I believe in two things. The first one is that we can create our own destiny with positive thinking. Focusing on the good things in life draws even more of the good stuff to you. Trust me, it works!
The second thing is that nothing happens without a reason. So whenever, despite my positive attitude, things go the wrong way, I know there is a meaning to it. It might not become obvious instantly, but eventually I always come to a point where it hits me: “Aaa, so that’s why it had to happen!”. This approach actually helps a lot, as you can imagine.
I also believe that travel is the best way to get to know yourself and to improve yourself throughout your life. But apart from that, travel is just so much FUN!
I’m scared of heights, but I tried skydiving. Twice. I’m scared of water, but I tried white water rafting in India. I’m scared of spiders and… Well, nothing. That’s a tough one.
So what’s my story?
I was born and raised in Poland, apart from years 1-7 of my childhood, when I lived in Germany. So yeah, English is not my native language, but you probably noticed that already
It took me a long time to realize what I want to do in life. I studied economics (because I had no better idea at that time), decided to work in the travel industry at the end of that period (because in the meantime I already caught the travel bug) and finally ended up in hotels doing marketing (because I thought “Close enough”. Wrong!).
I lived in France for one year during my Erasmus studies and I’ve spent 6 months in India, working and travelling. Both those periods have been amazing experiences. Ever since I came back from India I knew, that travelling would always be a major part of my life. And so it was. With a full time job, I used every holiday that I could, to travel as much as possible.
But I always felt, that it wasn’t enough.
I started to feel unhappy with my corporate job, which wasn’t right for me from the start. But it took me another few years to find the courage for the BIG change. You know the rest.
There’s still a long way to go, but one thing is sure – I am happy now. Not because I achieved all that I wanted (I’m far, faaaar from that yet), but because I finally know what I want and I feel that I’m on the right path to get there.
So please, help me achieve my goals and read my blog! And I promise I will do my best not to bore you to death
